Data–Pop Alliance is official partner of the Big Data for Peace Summer School organized by the Center for Innovation’s Peace Informatics at Leiden University, in The Hague. The event took place in July 2015.
The program of this 2nd edition of the Big Data Summer School is designed for professionals and students with interest in the impact of Big Data for the international peace and justice, including latest trends and lessons in innovation and new methodologies to collect, analyze and disseminate data in the sector. Students learned about the latest trends and lessons learned in data-driven innovation. Additionally, they developed the skills to apply new methodologies to collect, analyse and disseminate data streams within their own fields of social, political, economic or data science, gaining an in-depth overview of current and potential developments vis-à-vis Big Data for peace.
Data–Pop Alliance’s Research Affiliate Bruno Lepri, head of the Mobile and Social Computing Lab (MobS Lab) at Bruno Kessler Foundation in Trento, Italy, led the “Leveraging Mobile Phone Data “session at the 2 week program.
