Dr. Dharani Dhar Burra

Dr. Dharani Dhar Burra is the resident data scientist at the International Center for Tropical Agriculture (CIAT) – Asia, and is currently based in Hanoi, Vietnam. He coordinates big data program for CIAT and CGIAR’s Big data in Agriculture (bigdata.cgiar.org) platform in the region. In this role, he provides his expertise on data analytics, monitoring and evaluation, to projects related to localization of technologies for data driven agriculture and farmer information systems. He is also actively involved in development of frameworks that integrate multiple structured and unstructured data streams into existing food security monitors in the region. He is interested in creating and developing enabling environments that leverage big data for improving the sustainability of Agri-Food systems.
