Sam Fraiberger is a data scientist and an economist by training. His areas of focus are networks, computational social science, applied machine learning, and more generally how data and socio-technical systems can help understand and improve lives at a global scale.
His is currently part of the Big Data program at the World Bank. He is also a visiting scholar at NYU Computer Science and at the Northeastern Network Science Institute, a fellow at the Harvard Institute for Quantitative Social Science, and a senior research affiliate at Data-Pop Alliance.
He completed his PhD at NYU under the supervision of Xavier Gabaix, Romain Ranciere, Lakshmi Subramanian, and Arun Sundararajan, and his postdoc at Northeastern and Harvard with Laszlo Barabasi, David Lazer and Chris Riedl.
His enjoys collaborating on research and data innovations, and gets most of his ideas when relaxing at the Russian baths and practicing meditation.
