Abubakar Sani Abdullahi is a Development and Partnerships Officer at Data-Pop Alliance. He holds a BS in Glass Technology from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, and a Professional Graduate Certificate in Project Management from International Capacity Building and Management Development ICBMD, Nigeria. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sustainable Environmental Standards with specialization in Climate Change and Natural Resource Management at Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement Centre for Excellence (SPESSCE) Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria. Abubakar is passionate about topics related to development, quality education, climate and gender justice, and youth empowerment, which led him to create an initiative in Nigeria called The Life We Deserve Foundation. Prior to working at DPA, Abubakar worked and volunteered with many national and international NGOs, such as The Changemaker Project, Bridgers Association Cameroon, DIFFvelopment, and The Global Foundation for Girls.
During his time at The Changemaker Project, he worked as The Global Changemaker Ambassador (Nigeria), where he helped to educate young adults on a multitude of social justice issues affecting people, animals, and the environment via an online course, accessible from anywhere in the world. He also helped by teaching them to think creatively and critically, work as a team, and use Stanford’s Design Thinking process in order to generate an innovative solution to an issue the youth are passionate about.
