Abubakar Sani Abdullahi is a Development and Partnerships Officer at Data-Pop Alliance. He holds a BS in Glass Technology from Ahmadu Bello University, Nigeria, and a Professional Graduate Certificate in Project Management from the International Capacity Building and Management Development (ICBMD), Nigeria. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Sustainable Environmental Standards with a specialization in Climate Change and Natural Resource Management at the Sustainable Procurement, Environmental and Social Standards Enhancement Centre for Excellence (SPESSCE), Ahmadu Bello University. Abubakar is deeply passionate about development, quality education, climate and gender justice, and youth empowerment, which inspired him to establish The Life We Deserve Foundation in Nigeria, an initiative focused on addressing social justice issues.
In addition to his academic background, Abubakar has furthered his expertise through several fellowships. He completed the Climate x Leadership Fellowship with the Global Alliance of Universities on Climate in 2024 and the African Climate Leaders Fellowship with GreenLead in the same year. These programs have strengthened his leadership in the fight against climate change and his commitment to youth empowerment.
Abubakar has led numerous climate-related projects, both in professional and voluntary capacities, with a focus on climate literacy, sustainable agriculture, and green entrepreneurship. He has worked with various national and international organizations, including The Changemaker Project, Bridgers Association Cameroon, DIFFvelopment, and The Global Foundation for Girls. As The Global Changemaker Ambassador for Nigeria at The Changemaker Project, he played a key role in educating young adults on social justice issues affecting people, animals, and the environment through an accessible online course. He also trained youth in creative and critical thinking, teamwork, and Stanford’s Design Thinking process, guiding them to develop innovative solutions to issues they are passionate about.
