Asal Hematinik

Asal Hematinik is a Design Intern at Data-Pop Alliance (DPA), where she supports the organization’s visual communication efforts through graphic design. Her role involves assisting in the design and layout of editorial materials, creating infographics, social media graphics, and publication covers, and ensuring that DPA’s branding is consistently applied across various projects. She works closely with the Communications and Design teams to make complex data and research findings more engaging and accessible through design.

She is currently pursuing a Master’s in Design at Mediadesign University of Applied Sciences in Germany, with a specialization in Technology and AI, focusing on visual communication design and product design. Her studies explore the intersection of design, artificial intelligence, and digital innovation, equipping her with the skills to create user-centered designs that effectively communicate data-driven insights.

Asal has experience in editorial design, social media content creation, and branding, working on projects that require a blend of creativity and strategic problem-solving. She is proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), Canva, and CapCut, and has experience designing for digital reports, presentations, and marketing materials. Additionally, she contributes to web and UX/UI design, assisting in the creation of user interfaces, interactive prototypes, and digital experiences that enhance usability and engagement.

Her role at DPA also involves multimedia design, including video editing, and developing visual narratives for research projects. She actively participates in team meetings, design reviews, and project check-ins, ensuring that her work aligns with DPA’s objectives and visual identity.

Asal is passionate about data visualization, AI-driven design solutions, and the role of technology in shaping digital storytelling. She is particularly interested in how visual communication can bridge the gap between data and human understanding, aligning with DPA’s mission to use data for social impact. She believes that well-crafted design can transform information into powerful narratives that inspire action.
