Daisy Mukasa is a Development and Partnerships Intern at Data-Pop Alliance. She holds a BA Global Challenges (Honors) degree from the African Leadership University in Rwanda. In 2018, she was chosen among the 100 African students who received the Mandela Centennial Scholarship to commemorate what would have been Nelson Mandela’s hundredth birthday. Her undergraduate project focused on quality maternal health care, which is a topic she is passionate about and is currently working on establishing an advocacy program for improving the quality of life of the women affected by obstetric fistula in western Kenya.
Before joining DPA, Daisy worked as a Student Relations Intern for the Ashinaga Foundation in Japan and handled communications for Rwanda Cancer Relief, where she gained professional experience in social empowerment, youth development, education and healthcare access. She has also been involved in a number of voluntary projects to support girls and women empowerment in Rwanda and her local community in Kenya.
Her topics of interest include gender equality, sustainable development, and youth advocacy, and she dreams of getting into global health to impact people’s lives positively, write books, and travel worldwide.
