Irene Clavijo completed her Ph. D. at the Paris School of Economics. Prior to her doctoral studies she worked as a research analyst at the World Bank in Washington, DC. Within the field of applied development economics, an underlying theme in her research is the microeconomic study of poor rural households over the course of time (using longitudinal data). Her work has focused on the changes in households’ welfare levels (intragenerational mobility) and the development of their human capital (intergenerational transmission of risk factors).
