Laura Montgomery is a Volunteer for Data-Pop Alliance’s Data Science Team. She is currently completing her undergraduate degree at Georgetown University, majoring in Mathematics and minoring in Women and Gender Studies.
Prior to this role, Laura conducted independent research assessing ChatGPT’s level of gender bias within its algorithms and providing recommendations on how to improve this large language model. Her findings are in the process of being published through the Georgetown Research Scientific Journal. Laura is interested in the application of quantitative data analysis tools to social justice issues, particularly in promoting gender equality initiatives. She is also passionate about advocating for the LGBTQIA+ community and the unhoused population, where she volunteers with local organizations that support these communities.
