Manassé Eliantus MICHEL is a Project Officer for the Resilient Livelihoods & Ecosystems program at Data-Pop Alliance. He holds a MSc in Development focus on Project Management from Senghor University in Alexandria, Egypt, a BS in Statistics from the State University of Haiti, and a BS in Computer Science from the Haiti Higher School of Infotronics.
Manassé is an intermediate professional with proven skills and work experience in Data Analytics, Research and Project Monitoring and Evaluation, mostly with United Nations agencies. He worked for 2 years with the WFP Haiti Country Office as Data Analyst Information System in the Vulnerability Analysis and Mapping (VAM) unit, for 3 months as an Online Volunteer – Data Management Analyst supporting UNICEF work in Education and Gender, for 7 months as Data Analytics intern with WFP and UNDP Headquarters, and for 6 months as an International United Nations Volunteer, overseeing the implementation of the Joint SDG funded program on Social Protection in Guinea-Bissau in the role of Monitoring and Evaluation Officer at the UNFPA Guinea-Bissau Country Office.
In 2019, Manassé conducted the Market Research that led to the implementation of the first Data Science Bootcamp in Haiti. He is a Volunteer member of the SDG AI Lab and has won 2 competitions and participated in several others in 2022 related to the use of Internet of Things and Artificial Intelligence in the Development sector.
Manassé is proficient in Data Analytics tools like Python, R and Stata. His academic works were focused on how advanced statistical modeling can be used to predict households’ vulnerability in Haiti and how Data Analytics can support project implementation in Africa. Manassé’s main motivation is to use Data and Information Technology to impact the lives of the left-behind populations.
