Osama Abdelhay is a data scientist and biostatistician with over 13 years of experience in the field of analysis. He received his PhD and MSc from the University of Reading, UK with focus on modeling epidemiological studies. He received his BSc from Yarmouk University in Jordan in applied statistics in 2004. Osama worked as a researcher at several institutes in the UK such as Cambridge University, London College for Autism, and Foster Wheeler Energy. He was appointed as a data analyst in 2013 at the Center of Human Rights in Jordan to analyze human rights violations during the elections. After that he joined the Medical Service Department (MSD) in Saudi Arabia as a researcher and medical statistician from 2014 to 2017. In March 2018, he joined the UNHCR as part of the MENA region Data and Information Management and Analysis unit (DIMA) to investigate vulnerabilities and resilience models for refugees. In 2019 and 2020, he worked on a project with UNICEF to assess the Jordanian data ecosystem concerning children. Osama also teaches statistics at Princess Sumaya University for Science and Technology (PSUT).
