Wendy Hall

Professor, University of Southampton

Dame Wendy Hall is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Southampton, England. With her team Hall invented the Microcosm hypermedia system[, a precursor to the modern internet. Later she served as Southampton’s Head of the School of Electronics and Computer Science from 2002–07 and as President of the British Computer Society from 2003 to 2004 and as President of the Association for Computing Machinery from 2008 to 2010. Currently Hall has serves as Commissioner for the Global Commission on Internet Governance.
