The project aims to strengthen global SDG reporting by addressing persistent data gaps and systemic inequities impacting People of African Descent (PAD) worldwide, with particular attention to women, girls, and youth. It seeks to bridge critical information gaps, elevate the lived experiences of PAD through participatory methods, and shed light on the intersectional challenges they face.
By employing a comprehensive, evidence-based approach, the initiative will generate actionable insights into the structural barriers hindering progress for PAD and propose targeted strategies to advance inclusion and equity. It emphasizes the importance of improving disaggregated data to better monitor SDG progress, inform policy decisions, and design focused interventions that promote fairness and opportunity.
Grounded in a human rights–based, data-driven framework, the project will identify and confront structural and systemic racism affecting PAD populations. Ultimately, it will contribute to the creation of a global repository of data and evidence to support advocacy, strengthen accountability, and drive sustainable development outcomes.
