As part of a national effort to chart a new vision for sustainable development, the UNDP-led “Study on the Future Drivers of Sustainable and Inclusive Development in Liberia (DoD Study)” investigates the structural challenges and opportunities shaping the country’s path toward the SDGs. Conducted by Data-Pop Alliance in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning and national partners, the study combines broad consultations, technical workshops, and data analysis to assess Liberia’s development trajectory.
The research underscores how fragile governance, weak infrastructure, and social vulnerabilities constrain progress, while a lack of investment in youth—who make up the majority of the population—threatens to deepen inequalities. At the same time, it identifies transformative pathways anchored in stronger democratic institutions, sustainable food systems, improved connectivity, and inclusive education. By aligning these priorities with practical policy options, the study offers a roadmap for collective action to advance inclusive and resilient growth.
