Mapping and Dynamics of Violence involving Youth and Children in Urban Areas in Port-au-Prince

This publication, a collaboration between Data-Pop Alliance and UNICEF, explores the dynamics of gang violence and armed actors affecting children and young people (0-24 years old) in urban areas of Port-au-Prince between 2016 and 2022. The study aims to map these dynamics, analyze their impacts, and inform strategies to protect children from violence and prevent their recruitment into gangs.

To examine the factors driving gang violence, the study applies the socio-ecological model, analyzing influences at the individual, relational, community, and societal levels. This framework provides a comprehensive understanding of how violence evolves in Haiti and its effects on children and youth.
