Anthony Deen

Anthony Deen is a Communications and Research Manager at Data-Pop Alliance. He holds a MSc in Public Policy and Human Development from United Nations University MERIT-Maastricht University with an emphasis in Migration Studies and a BA in Political Science from San Francisco State University. His master’s thesis examined the role of community-based organizations in increasing social capital for asylum seekers and refugees in Belgium. Before joining DPA, Anthony worked as an educator in many countries around the world. He also worked as the Project Manager for an educationally focused NGO, Mobile Education Partnerships, in Northern Thailand, with the goal of improving learning outcomes for migrant and refugee students. During his time in Thailand, he was able to volunteer as a Grant Writer for the Burma Children Medical Fund. His most recent role was in communications with the Netherlands-based INGO SPARK, working on refugee entrepreneurship and economic development in Sub-Saharan Africa. In addition to communications, he is interested in issues related to migration, sustainable development, and access to education.
