Mariem Omrani

Eager to develop her quantitative and analytical skills, Mariem is excited to join Data-Pop Alliance, where she provides support on research and implementation of DPA’s ongoing projects in the MENA and the Sub-Saharan Africa regions. With a distinct interest in Big Data’s application to develop evidence-based policies and foster positive change, Mariem is particularly interested in the development and experimental economics, quantitative methods, projects implementation, and evaluation. Prior to joining DPA, Mariem collaborated with various NGOs based in Tunisia and Italy, where she resides now. Mariem has recently graduated with an M.A. in Development Economics and International Cooperation from the University of Rome Tor Vergata, where she wrote her dissertation on The Role of Social entrepreneurship in Fostering Women’s Economic Empowerment in Tunisia. Mariem also holds an MSc. in Macroeconomics and International Finance and a BSc in Economics from the École Supérieure des Sciences Economiques et Commerciales de Tunis. She has attended the Sixth German Arab Summer school in Law and Economics at the Institute of Law and Economics, University of Hamburg.
