Towards Caring Cities: A Geospatial Analysis in Dhaka City

As part of UN Women’s Research-in-Action series, Towards Caring Cities explores how urban design, land use, and climate vulnerability intersect with the availability and accessibility of care services in Dhaka. Developed in partnership with Data-Pop Alliance, this study uses innovative geospatial mapping to identify gaps in care provision and reveal how these impact women’s ability to engage in economic and public life. The research contributes to the TransformCare Investment Initiative by offering data-driven insights to guide gender-responsive urban planning and investments in care systems across Asia and the Pacific.
