Julie Ricard is a Research Assistant at Data-Pop Alliance. She is a researcher and PhD candidate in Public Administration and Government at Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV). She holds a Master’s degree in International Relations from Sciences Po (France) and in Gender Studies from Université Paris 7. Her work focuses on disinformation and public policy, with an emphasis on health, gender, and democracy. She is currently a fellow of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq), conducting research at CEAPG and the Laboratory for Studies on Information Disorder and Public Policy (DesinfoPop). She has served as a consultant for UNESCO, supporting the Secretariat for Social Communication of the Presidency of Brazil in addressing public health disinformation. She was also Director of the Technology and Democracy Program at Data-Pop Alliance and a researcher at the Harvard Humanitarian Initiative. Additionally, she was a “Technology and Democracy” fellow at the Mozilla Foundation.
